Are you in a bit of a state?
Are you all of a tiz-woz?
One of the quickest and easiest ways of getting yourself into a calmer or more relaxed state is to meditate. Another is to concentrate on your breathing.
When you meditate you will be concentrating on your breathing anyway.
Begin by taking a deep in-breath.
Breathe out slowly.
Breathe in and continue in this manner for a few minutes until you feel calm and relaxed.
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
When your concentration wanders then just come back to your breathing again and focus on that.
If you are going for an interview or have to make a rather unpleasant phone call then use this breathing technique to get you into a calm state before you begin.
It is also a good idea to use this calming technique whenever you feel a forthcoming situation may make your 'cup of stress' overflow.
